The almond tree mentioned in Jeremiah 1:11 signifies that God is awake like that almond tree in spring and watchful of His word and that it will come to pass. The almond is a symbol of hope that God will bring His promises to pass. God is also watchful of our sin. Being a good and forgiving God all we have to do is repent and God will always be there ready to forgive us and accept us back into His fold. That is a promise of God that I love. How quick are we to forgive others who have done us wrong or hurt us in some way? If you’re like me you’re not easy to offer forgiveness. Our heavenly father on the other hand will forgive us instantly once we confess and repent our sin. I’m so grateful God is such a forgiving God and not like me who is not so forgiving at times.
Other versus in the Bible that reference almond trees are in Numbers 17:8, Exodus 25: 33-34, Exodus 37: 19-20, Ecclesiastes 12:5 and Genesis 44:11.
